The 27th Summer Universiade was recently held in Kazan, Russia from the 6th – 17th of July 2013. Absolute Fencing is extremely proud to have fielded 6 out of the 10 fencers representing Singapore at the Games. Victoria Ann Lim, Goh Wan Qi, and Nicolette Soh were part of the Women’s Epee Team while Ng Kun Khai, Tan Yuan Zi and Zhang Zhenggang made up the Men Foil Team. Khai was part of the Men’s Epee Team as well.

The World University Games is second only to the Olympic Games in terms of scale and standards. It was an eye-opening experience for our fencers competing at a world-class competition like this against Olympians. This competition also gave our fencers the opportunity to meet and interact with athletes from different sports and countries. Absolute Fencing believes that the WUG is a valuable learning experience for our fencers, enriching them and broadening their horizons, thereby enabling them to grow as athletes as well as individuals.
